Benalmadena
The municiple of Benalmadena is divided into 3 main area; Benalmadena Pueblo (Benalmadena Village), Benalmadena Costa (Benalmadena Coast) and Arroyo de la Miel (translates as river of the honey).
Benalmadena Pueblo
Benalmadena Pueblo is located high above the coastline (nearly 300metres), and is the oldest area with its traditional white washed houses, narrow cobbled winding streets and little squares with small local bars, ideal for grabbing some tapas and a drink. High up in the pueblo, there are some amazing views looking down over Benalmadena Costa. This small Spanish village, is mostly popular with Spanish residents and foreign internationals who have decide to reside there as opposed to holiday makers, although it makes for a great day out, catching the local bus from Benalmadena Costa.

Down on the coast lies Benalmadena Costa, adjoining the Paseo Maritimo from Torremolinos and La Carihuela is the Puerto Marina de Benalmadena (Benalmadena Marina). The Marina never sleeps, it is a place to visit day and night, during the day saunter around the marina, maybe take a trip out dolphin spotting or relaxing on a catamaran with one of the many boat excursions, grab some souvenirs in one of the many shops located in the marina or sit back and look out over all the boats and yachts whilst enjoying lunch and a drink. After the shops have closed late evening, all the bars stay open and are also joined by many clubs in the marina and the place stays alive until the early hours of the following morning. Just up from the marina is the over night life area of Benalmadena Costa, 'Plaza Sol y Mar', also known as 24-hour square due to the bars/clubs staying open all through the night.
You can walk along from marina, continuing along the Paseo Maritimo for a short stroll, or if you head upon to the main road, you'll find banks, shops, bars and restaurants. Continuing along the main road, you'll see one of the popular landmarks, seen commonly on many postcards is the 'Windmill Roundabout'. Heading uphill from the windmills takes you towards Arroyo de la Miel and Parque de Paloma (Paloma Park).

Arroyo de la Miel is the residential town of Benalmadena, the train station of Benalmadena is located here, with the frequent service, it brings residents of neighbouring towns, visitors, commuters. Whether its for the numerous banks, shops, amusement park or even ice skating, Arroyo de la Miel has a lot to offer.
