San Juan
Celebrations along the entire coast with partying, fireworks, bonfires, food and drink, brings thousands to the beaches to celebrate the summer solstice and the shortest night of the summer.
There are many said traditions to the night of San Juan, one of the traditions is said that if you jump over the fire at mid-night three times it will purify you and bring good health or a safer more recent tradition is to wash your feet in the see at the strike of mid-night to wash away the devil and purify you, but some see it as an excuse to go for a mid-night swim.
Wherever you are on the Costa del Sol, there will be partying, concerts, fireworks and lots of fun from Burriana beach in Nerja, through to La Salida beach in San Pedro. If you do venture down to the beach don't forget your drink, towel and swimwear.
