Seville - (Sevilla in Spanish)
Seville is the 4th largest city in Spain, with a city population of over 700,000. Dating back over 2000 years, the city has been influenced by several civilisations, from medieval, baroque, renaissance.
Seville has two UNESCO World Heritage sites within the city centre; The Alcazar and the Cathedral.
Alcazar - Taking more than 500years to construct, the Alcazar faces the Cathedral and was developed from a previous Moorish palace.
Cathedral of St Mary - Built between 1401-1519, it is one of the largest Gothic Cathedrals and was built on the former site of the Mosque. Parts of the Mosque were used to build the Cathedral, most famously, the Giralda, which was originally a minaret, was converted into a bell tower.
As well as the two World Heritage site, Seville also offers some other great sites and buildings:
Seville has the second warmest summer in the European continent, beaten only by its neighbouring city, Cordoba. The average daily high in July is over 35°C.

- Plaza de Espana - Built in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. A large half-circle, with buildings running along the edge. Along the walls of the Plaza are tiled alcoves, each representing a different Spanish province. In the centre is a large fountain, and a small moat with several small bridges. The Plaza has been used for shooting some big screen films; The Dictator, Lawrence of Arabia and Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones.
- Metropol Parasol - A modern architectural structure only finished in 2011, with a roof terrace creating fantastic view points over the city and also home to the central market.
- Torre del Oro - Built as a watchtower and defensive system of the river. A huge chain was pulled across the river from the base of the tower, preventing boats to travel up the river.
